Stephanie L. (Mateer) Inverso, a Pittsburgh transplant of 25 plus years, who finds her peace in the arts, reading and writing. Stephanie has been writing since her youth and within the last few years has experienced a personal renaissance. Her muses vary, any subject is cause for the pen to come to life. When she’s not curled up with a pen and paper, she is enjoying making memories with her husband, family and friends.                                            Lost in Migration

It's always the darkest before dawn.
Almost Seven,
this bird has beckoned me
from a blissful slumber
tapping out incoherent messages in Morse code on the kitchen window.
For days now,
she's continued to return,
fighting a reflection on repeat.
It does not understand
what it cannot see,
and,
this is true
in all of nature.
