Two tankas under the influence of the moon
At the beach
passing cups of red wine
reflecting the moon, night sky
drinking the darkness
between the stars
I follow the moon
with the fervor of any
lunar-mad Tang poet --
tonight, the moon is a moon
I stare up uninspired
