                                            Childish
Tangible, a dessicated
tangerine peel you
thought was a California poppy.
I always see tap shoes
at Savers. Dare I?
Wake up
gasping, mouth gaping
under my greasy CPAP mask.
Some things are private.
Like licking
Knorr bouillon cubes
for that burning
salt sear. Tapping Kool-Aid powder
straight into your mouth. Allowable extremes.
Wiping one’s nose on one’s sleeve.
Wondering if this feeling
will last. The one
where fate tests you
like every five minutes.
(End with something
profound, relatable.) I can’t.
I can’t.
